Name of student: Dora Greendayle

Student age: 14

Student year: 3

Student House: Ravenclaw

Student's personality: Dora is smart and likes learning—at least about the things she’s interested in. Her greatest interest is magical animals, and naturally this is her favorite subject. She hopes to get some sort of job that involves studying them (fieldwork research, nothing office-based), or taking care of them, because she doesn’t imagine she could stand doing anything else. Second-favorite subjects are probably Herbology and Potions. She can get
frustrated and impatient when she’s bored, or doesn’t like a subject, as with Arithromancy or History of Magic. Things that seem abstract or remote to her
tend to frustrate her the most. If something is practical or has an immediate application, or can be directly observed, she likes it, which is why she likes the above subjects.

She’d prefer to interact with magical creatures or repot a plant than read a book, but she doesn’t mind intellectual things either, as long as they can keep
her interest. When something begins to bore her, though, she can get temperamental. She’s smart enough to pull decent grades in just about every subject,
even the ones she doesn’t like. Arithromancy is the exception. The teacher often chews her out, because Dora is a Ravenclaw, and unlike her fellow Housemembers, isn’t doing very well and obviously isn’t studying very hard. Dora sometimes wonders if she was meant to be a Ravenclaw, since she finds it hard to study for more than a few minutes unless it’s a subject she has a passion for, and because she’s obviously not very intellectually inclined, though
very smart.

As for the rest of her personality: Dora can be a bit moody. She doesn’t hide it very well when she doesn’t like a person or a situation, or when something rubs her the wrong way. Similarly, it’s pretty clear when she’s happy, content or excited. She isn’t flamboyant about it or anything—she doesn’t *try* to show what she’s feeling, and generally doesn’t snap and yell at people, or dance with glee, or anything— but it isn’t hard to tell what she’s feeling from looking at her face and body language. In the same way that she’s annoyed by academic abstraction, Dora can get annoyed by “phony” social behavior, and social games.

Student's appearance: She’s skinny and a bit on the short side. Reddish-brown shoulder-length hair, pasty skin with a few freckles, sharp light-brown eyes.

Wizarding background, such as blood purity (Pureblood or Muggle-born? Muggle father or mother?): Father’s family goes back a long way, though they aren’t a terribly prestigious family. Mother was a Muggle-Born, but chooses to have almost no contact with the Muggle world now, much preferring the wizard one. As a result, Dora doesn’t know all that much about the Muggle world, though more than your average pureblood.

Are any family members Dark Wizards? Currently or formerly?: Dora’s uncle (paternal) was suspected of being a Dark Wizard. He was never convicted, but his career was harmed significantly. Dora’s family has mixed feelings about this, and mixed opinions as to whether or not he actually was a Dark Wizard.

Have any siblings (if they exist) attended Hogwarts?: No; Dora’s only sibling is her five-year-old brother, who isn’t old enough to attend.

How many Harry Potter books have you read?: All of ‘em.

Finally, we'd like to know your level of knowledge regarding freeform roleplaying, and the use of IRC.:
I’ve free-form RPed a bit, and I’ve used IRC (mostly the mIrC client) for years, though I don’t know any fancy tricks.
